Given me hope to compete my final year

Hi Brendan, I just wanted to say that you’ve helped me more than any other resource I’ve had access to over the course of my injury (beating out a DO, PTs, college sports trainers, coaches, chiropractors) and I really want to express my gratitude. Being on a college crew team we see a number of back injuries from overuse and any time one of the younger guys asks about anything, your strengthening approach has always been something I thought made sense, but never having it affirmed by experienced/educated resources that were helping me made me think it wasn’t the right way for some reason. So I’m incredibly happy you came up on my explore. I can’t explain how much pain you’ve saved me (emotional/mental too!) and you’ve given me hope and what I think is a decent chance at actually getting to compete in my final year of college sports.

15 and pain free after missing a whole season

I’m 15 and I play basketball. I had a disc herniation last year and sat out a whole season because of it. Doing physical therapy and some exercises like the cobra stretch and other abdominal-related moves helped, but not a lot. One of your videos popped up on my For You page. It was about lower back pain and how to fix it. Since then, I started doing the exercises you recommended and also strengthening and stretching my legs.
My life changed in a way thanks to you because I can finally play basketball and live a pain-free life again. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart—keep doing what you do, you help a lot of people. 🙏❤️

From rock climbing injury to training for a 10-miler

A year ago this week I fell while rock climbing and had the most excruciating low back muscle spasms of my life. It hurt to stand, sit, or lay down. Physical therapy took months, and even then I wasn’t back to normal and still had periods of immense pain.
Your approach completely changed my perspective on recovery, and now I’m back in the gym lifting weights multiple times a week, as well as taking additional workout classes and playing sports again, and I’ll be starting training for a 10-miler in May.

From herniated disc at 15

Hey, I just wanted to thank you for putting out all the information you do. I herniated my L5 disc about a year ago and I was only 15. Did physical therapy for 6 months and I would feel better temporarily but the pain would always come back.
Stumbled across your page and started to implement some of the exercises. I slowly began to feel better and began to workout again. Now I’m playing lacrosse full time again and am looking forward to playing spring football.

After stress fractures and 12 years of pain, I’m running again.

First professional game in the highest Swedish soccer league when I was 17 years old. Quit completely before turning 21 due to stress fractures in L2 vertebrae.
Been struggling with my back since then (33 now). Had to stop running in 2017, and doctors wanted to take me through arthrodesis in 2020.
Now, after 6 months of following your program, I am back running. Unbelievable.
I’ve always been told to stay away from putting too much pressure on my back—now I’m doing the opposite and it feels great.

Herniated disc & sciatica nearly ended high school sports

Forever thankful Brendan—your content reached me on Instagram last July.
I had bad low back pain and horrible sciatica due to a herniated disc. Competing in high school sports and even daily activities became a challenge.
I tried physical therapy and chiropractic, but the advice was always to avoid rounding my back. Your approach was different, and I wasn’t getting results with what I was doing, so I gave it a shot.
Fast forward a couple months: my low back pain and sciatica got way better. I was able to have faith in my recovery and your content.
I competed in football and wrestling at my best this year—and I owe that to you.
